Directorate of Endowment and Resource Development Services (DERDS) is one of the machinery put in place by the Management of Covenant University to drive Capacity Building that focused on not only acquisition of knowledge with Certification but application, by utilising our endowed resources for the ultimate attainment of the Millennium Development Goals. Leveraging on the Covenant platform in cutting edge in the export zone to every part of the continent with all kinds of products of complete local content.
At DERDS, we seek to drive the strategic business units entrepreneurially-based endeavours and resourceful endowment.
Our innovative business development strategies are tailored towards meeting the ever evolving and dynamic services/product delivery, satisfaction for students and customers/clientele.
It is our operational imperative to collaborate with business-savvy persons and institutions for viable resource development as it relates to our operational outlets such as Canaan Transport Services, Shopping Mall/Supermarkets, Covenant Bakery, Hebron Water Production, Guest House, Canaan Cuisine Fast Food, Cafeterias, and Student Buttery Support Services.
Vision
The Directorate of Endowment and Resource Development Services(DERDS) seeks to provide a financially resourceful and enterprising context for Covenant University by profiling self-sufficiency via securing endowment, strategic business and an entrepreneurially-savory community.
Mission
The Directorate of Endowment and Resource Development Services (DERDS) will serve as the strategic interface between securing a future-base for the University via robust endowment practices and innovative business development platforms.
Objectives
(1) To secure a viable resource development base across strategic businesses.
(2) Provision of financial endowment base on securing a future for a viable endowment across various platforms.
(3) Supporting the development of new product ideas.
(4) Identification of projects and ideas that will help to drive the University’s income generation.
(5) Opening up the external business lines for existing products and services.
(6) Creation of product Marketing Channels.
Activities of the Unit
COVENANT UNIVERSITY GUEST HOUSE(CUGH)
CUGH is a friendly ultra modern guest house situated in a beautiful, serene and quiet environment within Covenant University.
Our Facilities:
80 tastefully furnished rooms with state -of –the- art facilities in the following categories:
- Executive Deluxe Rooms
- Mini Suites
- Standard Rooms
All rooms are networked by intercom, Internet services and satellite television system.
- A standard restaurant offering continental and national dishes, with 24 hours room services.
- A Christian friendly bar.
- A 300 or more capacity auditorium for marriage reception, meetings, seminars and workshops.
- A-50 people capacity mini hall for meetings and conference.
- Laundry services with modern dry cleaning equipment.
- A mini mart for daily need.
- A gym to keep fit and look gorgeous
- Fountain side relaxation spot.

SHOPPING MALL
Shopping Mall is one of the major business units under the Directorate of Endowment and Resource Development Services (DERDS) and it has been operating since the inception of Covenant University.
It is sited strategically in the heart of Covenant University within the CU Chapel Building and is aimed at meeting the day to day needs of the entire community by making household items available all the time and providing essential services.
The items in the Mall ranges from provisions, stationeries, drinks, gift items, toiletries and boutique. We also run a snack bar for students that want something fast.
Shopping Mall also provides some essential students support services such as barbing, hair dressing, tailoring, shoe making, photography, photocopying and call services.
Shopping Mall runs two shifts and opens 7 days of the week
CAFETERIA 1
Cafeteria one is primarily set up to produce and serve well balanced meals prepared under hygienic condition for the well being of the student populace in Covenant University. The unit serves varieties of meals which cut across local dishes, continental dishes, pastries and ‘convenience’ foods.
The meals are being prepared by experienced cooks using modern equipment for Industrial cooking. The unit has now introduced the electronic ticketing method through the use of POS machine; which has reduced queues and help in rendering quick service.
The unit serves about 7,000 Students daily at the rate of #150 per plate.
The unit has an average staff of 178 where about, 80% are casuals with about 20% tenure.
CAFETERIA 2
Cafeteria two (Cafe 2) is one of the biggest cafeteria in Lagos state and Ogun state serving over 2,000 people everyday. The Cafeteria which first opened its door for business on 18th April, 2006 was birthed to offer quality food service to staff of the university and also meet the demand of students consistently increasing.
Cafe 2 is an arm of catering unit in the Directorate of Endowment and Resource Development Services (DERDS), Covenant University Canaanland Ota, Ogun State.
The birth of Cafe 2 creates employment for Nigerians and her employees are constantly trained to ensure quality products and services are offered to the University community.
HEBRON DRINKS
The Hebron drink is another unit under DERDS of Covenant University Consultancy Services. It was established in December 2005, to cater primarily for worshippers at Canaanland and Covenant University students. The unit adequately provides Sachet water and Bottle water to Canaanland community.
Hebron drinks are driving towards having distributors nationwide and maintaining high quality products at all times.
Our products range from:
- Sachet water, 50cl bottle water, 75cl bottle water, Black currants flavor drink , Orange flavor drink , 25 litres black currants (communion drink), 1.5litres black currants (communion drink).
Our focus is customers delight and best quality at all times.
COVENANTBAKERY
Covenant bakery was established in December 2003, to provide quality products for the Student and its community. It is sited in Canaanland Shopping Complex to meet day to day needs of the entire community and Ota environs with quality and hygienic products. The services rendered by Covenant University bakery apart from production of bread, Includes :
i. Training of student
ii. Training of corporate bodies and individuals, to enhance productivity and reduce unemployment rate in the country.
We also produce varieties of products to satisfy and add value to our consumer’s health.

CANAAN SHUTTLE
Our Services includes:
- Intra-city cab service
- Airport pick up/drop
- School pick up/drop
- Office pick up/drop
- Church services pick up/drop (Clients are picked and dropped off on request by calling our hotlines)
- Takes you to special events like weddings, birthdays, parties, picnic, interviews, social visits etc.
Intra-city cab service: This service is designed for passengers to be picked and dropped at random at their destination for a fee.
