Director, International Office and Linkages, Dr Ada Peter

The Director, International Office and Linkages, Dr. Ada Peter has earned the 2018 NAFSA’s Global Dialogue Fellows Award. Each year five African higher education professionals are selected for the award, but the 2018 award makes Covenant University the first Nigerian institution to receive the Award.

NAFSA is an association of international educators and the world's largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education and exchange, working to advance policies and practices that ensure a more interconnected, peaceful world today and for generations to come.

The 2018 edition avails recipients' the strategic opportunities to meet and engage with global leaders including America's former First lady, Laura Bush and create new channels of dialogue with academic leaders from around the world.

The Fellowship will also provide greater access to international study and research for the recipient’s institution which will develop new and more profound international opportunities for students, scholars, faculty, and exchange visitors at their home institutions.

Furthermore, this will increase global competence among students, faculty members, and administrators of the recipient’s institutions as well as strengthen institutional relationships with higher education institutions in other countries.

As of 2010, NAFSA had served approximately 10,000 educators worldwide, representing nearly 3,000 higher education institutions.
