C. T. Ako, Professor, born June 20th 1943 at Aladja, Udu Local Government Area of
Delta State Nigeria. He was educated in Saint Peter’s Catholic School, Ahoada and
Township Port Harcourt all in Rivers State. He had his secondary education in the
famous Govemment College Ughelli, between 1957 and 1963. Proceedecl for Tertiary
Education in the University of Ibadan; Oil and Gas University Bucharest (now in ploiesti)
Rumania, University of Southern California Los Angeles U.S.A. and the University of
Lagos; between Oct 1964 - Dec 1964, 1965 - 1970. 1974 - 1976 and 1980 -1983 in that
order. He obtained the degrees Diplom-lng (Petroleum Refinery Engineering and
Petrochemical Technology) M.Sc (Chemical. Engineering); June 1975. M.Sc (Petroleum
Engineering) June 1976 and Ph.D (Chemical Engineering) March 1984.
His work experience spans 31 years of University teaching in the University of` Lagos and
Covenant University; six years work in industry (Nigerian Petroleum Refining Co. Port
Harcourt, now Port Harcourt Refining Company) and Nigus Petroleum Ltd as General
Manager.
He is a consultant to several indigenous companies and Federal ministry of
Environment.
Professor Ako belongs to various professional organizations. He is happily married with
children.
