Summary of Profile

Professor Babatunde has a Christian background and therefore has very early and smooth education. He had his B. Sc. degree (Physics with Mathematics) London University 1964 from the then University College, Ibadan, a professional teaching qualification, PGDE (Teaching of Physics) in 1966 from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, M. Sc. (Radiation Physics) from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ife, Nigeria, in 1980 and his Ph. D. (Physics), in 1989 from University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria.

Thereafter he attended some other learned conferences, colleges and training, among which are: Wesleyan University, USA, 1968; College of soil Physics, Trieste, Italy, 1983; Centre Audio Visuel de Language modern for French Language ar Vichy, France, 1984; University de Perpignan, France for solar energy course (1985).

He is a teacher, lecturer, researcher and philosopher. He has been teaching throughout his life time and taught in all the tiers of education in Nigeria, that is, from Primary to the University level. He rose from the rank of Lecturer I when he joined Physics Department of University of Ilorin, Ilorin in 1991 to Professor of Physics in the same University in 2004 and currently a Professor of Physics, Covenant University, Canaan Land, Ota, 2004 to date.

In his career as a teacher he was an HOD of Physics Department, in several schools at several times, External examiner to Physics Department of several institutions and Universities and a coordinator of several education programmes in the Universities. Right now in Covenant University, he is the Chairman Covenant Journal Central Committee, managing editor of Covenant Journal of Science and Technology and Chairman Silicon Research Group, Covenant University.
His main area of research is Atmospheric and Solar Radiation, Environmental Science with emphasis on solar radiation measurements, analysis and radiative effect on atmospheric and sky conditions. From these, about 40 publications jointly and individually have been published in reputable journals. They are mostly on radiative transfer in the atmosphere, modeling of radiation fluxes, radiation flux ratios and their radiative transfer interpretations.
