Summary of Profile

Dr. Emeka Iweala is a senior lecturer in Biochemistry at the Covenant University, Nigeria. He had his professional training at the Abia State University, University of Nigeria and University of Lagos. Prior to joining Covenant University, he worked for over twelve years as a lecturer and researcher at the Abia State University, Nigeria. He has publishd several papers from research spanning nutritional and pharmacological biochemistry and presented papers at several scientific meetings. His current research focuses on the role of Nigerian plant foods in chemoprevention of diseases and public health nutrition. He is a member of several professional bodies including Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB), Nigerian Society for Experimental Biology (NISEB) and Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST). He is actively involved in community service and loves travelling and playing chess. He is married and has children.
