Summary of Profile

Dr. OLUKANNI, David Olatunde had his Ph.D degree in Civil Engineering (Water resources and Environmental Engineering option). He holds a B.Eng degree in Civil Engineering and M.Eng degree in Civil Engineering with research focus in Water Resource and Environmental Engineering. He is a recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship to the United State of America where he studied at the University of Oklahoma, Norman and researched at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, U.S.A. He has won awards and grants for research, and travel Scholarships to International Conferences abroad on Water related issues. He is a registered member of the following learned and professional associations: Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN); Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE); International Association for Environmental Hydrology (IAEH); Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN) and the State Alumni.gov. He has participated in many Civil Engineering projects where he worked with consultants and construction companies and have some jobs completed to his credit. He has published on issues that relates to water and the environment in book chapters, local and International reputable Journals. He serves as a reviewer for some journals. Among the administrative responsibilities are: Member, Covenant University Site Projects Completion Task Force; Civil Engineering Course Adviser, Departmental Seminar Coordinator, CUCERD committee member, LFC Editorial Board member and Deputy Chaplain in the University Chaplaincy. His current area of research includes: Hydraulics and Hydrological Studies, Water Supply in rural and urban communities, Modeling, Simulation and Optimization of Waste water Treatment System, Solid Waste Management, WASH in Schools program, and Rural/Urban Sanitation and Hygiene study. He teaches courses in Civil Engineering, Water resources and Environmental Engineering. He has supervised and mentored several students towards the award of their degrees. He enjoys reading, meditating, designing, singing, traveling, sporting and meeting people. He is happily married and fruitfully blessed.
