Covenant 1 of 10 Most Improved Year-on-Year, Globally, in THE World University Rankings 2020


God’s own University, Covenant is one of the most improved Year-on-Year, globally, in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, according to a computation by StatiSense.

StatiSense is a data consulting firm with expertise in providing data services such as Analytics, Research, Reporting, Measurement & Evaluation and Training to individuals, private organizations and non-governmental organizations.

Covenant with +219 was on the 7th spot of the 10 most improved Universities list, which also had Kansai Medical University, Japan (+358), Catholic University of Portugal (+266), Mansoura University, Egypt (+256), University of Nairobi, Kenya (+229), and Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan (+226).

Others included Shanghai Maritime University, China (226), Ferhat Abbas Setif University, Algeria (+219), and Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil (+218).

It is noteworthy that Covenant had in the last ten months improved on her former positions in the flagship THE World University Rankings and other categories. The Institution, which made her debut in the ranking at 601-800 in 2018 took a giant leap to the 401-500 bracket in 2019. Covenant, then, was regarded as the biggest mover in the rankings.

Covenant, also recently, improved on her 2019 ranking of 151-200 by nestling in the 101-150 bracket in the 2020 Young University Rankings. In the Emerging Economies Rankings, Covenant, ranked 151 in 2019, is now 91. The story is the same in the Subject Rankings. Recent rankings showed that Covenant improved on her 2019 ranking of 501-600 in Engineering and Technology to 301-400 in 2020. In Business and Economics (from 501+ in 2019 to 301-400 in 2020); Computer Science (301-400 in 2020); Social Sciences (301-400 in 2020); and Physical Sciences (401- 500 in 2020).

Ranked 401-600 in the 2020 Impact Rankings, Covenant had also made beautiful strides in the Sustainable Development Goals, where she features in 12 different categories.
