Three Covenant University authors were among the best 4 in the world as the University once again demonstrated her excellence in research by emerging the best in the world in the field of Nigeria; UNO; Construction Industry.

According to the latest computations by Elsevier Scival, the quick and easy access to the research performance of 8500 research institutions and 220 countries worldwide, Covenant University ranked 1st on the top 10 list of the most active institutions in the aforementioned topic.

The computations, spanning the period between 2012 and 2017, showed that Covenant emerged the best with 3 publications, closely followed by the University of Benin with 3 publications and 3 citations. Athens University of Economics and Business, Iowa State University, and La Trobe University completed the top 5, while two other Nigerian institutions – the University of Ibadan and University of Port Harcourt – also featured on the top 10 list.

Mr. Adedeji Afolabi of the Department of Building Technology is the leading author in this topic at Covenant University. He was ranked No. 1 among the top 100 authors in the world courtesy of his 3 publications and 1 h-index. Construction Material Planning and Control using ICT; Green and Sustainable construction; and Entrepreneurship in the Construction Industry are some of Mr. Afolabi’s research interests.

The 3rd and 4th best authors in the world, Professor Olabosipo Fagbenle (2 publications and 1 h-index) and Professor Timothy Mosaku (2 publications and 3 h-index), are also of the Building Technology Department of Covenant University.
