Covenant, Author No.1 Globally in Research Topic: T.16169 Adomian Decomposition Method, Probability Function, Ordinary Differential Equation
West Africa's best University, Covenant and her faculty, Dr Hilary Okagbue, have emerged the No.1 institution and author, respectively, globally, in research topic: T.16169 'Adomian Decomposition Method, Probability Function, Ordinary Differential Equation', according to computations by Elsevier’s SciVal from 2015 to 2020.
SciVal is an online tool that offers quick, easy access to the research performance of 7,000 research institutions and 220 nations worldwide using bibliometrics.
The computation, which featured the performance of the world's institutions and authors in T.16169, showed Covenant occupying the first spot in the top 10 list of the institutions' category with 33 scholarly output and 388 citations.
Dr Okagbue of the Department of Mathematics of Covenant University, emerged 1st globally in the top 100 list of the authors' category with 30 scholarly output, 354 citations, and 15 h-index.
Remarkably, aside from Dr Okagbue, three other Covenant authors, also from the Department of Mathematics, made the top 10 list of the top performers. These were Dr Abiodun Opanuga, Dr Emmanuel Oguntunde, and Dr Adamu Muminu. Dr Opanuga emerged 3rd with 25 scholarly output, 332 citations, and 14 h-index; Dr Oguntunde was 8th with 11 scholarly output, 29 citations, and 11 h-index; while Dr Muminu emerged 10th with 9 scholarly output, 82 citations, and 11 h-index.
Dr Okagbue, the world-leading author in Adomian Decomposition Method, Probability Function, Ordinary Differential Equation, described the research area as a subset of the field of Mathematical statistics, where differential equations in the study of probability functions of continuous probability were applied.
While attributing his emergence as No.1 author in T.16169 to the Hand of God, he believed he would build on the achievement with a combination of encouragement and determination.
Dr Okagbue, a recipient of the Covenant University Chancellor's Exceptional Researchers Award, stated that his research enterprise was driven by the zeal to contribute his quota to the attainment of the Vision 10:2020 of the University. His research interests are Mathematical statistics, number statistics and Mathematical Cryptography.
