Covenant, BOSCH partner to promote Skill Acquisition, Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Education
Africa’s fastest growing University, Covenant, and BOSCH Power Tool are partnering to revolutionise the education sector through Skill Acquisition, Future of Work and Entrepreneurship Development.
The partnership is expected to facilitate skill training, boost employability, and promote entrepreneurship and wealth creation within and outside the University community. The certification from BOSCH will further give students an edge locally and internationally.
The exposure to BOSCH Power Tool technology, invention and innovation will birth a proposed BOSCH Center for Technology and Innovation at Covenant University.
According to the Country Business Director of BOSCH, Mr. Joaquin Coso, the relationship would further empower youth, while the organisation’s Brand and Marketing Manager, Mr. Samson Ajayi, said that Bosch was excited with possibility of tapping into Covenant University’s Entrepreneurship Development as well as provide her graduates with technical and vocational education skills.
“We believe this is one of the most sustainable ways to properly equip Nigerian graduates and enable them be more entrepreneurial after graduation. Obtaining technical and vocational skills along with their professional qualifications makes them even more confident to take on the challenges of life as well as become employers of labor after graduation,” Mr Ajayi explained.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor AAA. Atayero, noted that additive manufacturing would be the hallmark of the 4th Industrial Revolution and as such, Covenant, in partnering with BOSCH, would start with the tools. This, he said, would develop the industries and people who could use the tools.
Professor Atayero added that the tool aspect would be integrated into the Students Work Experience Programme (SWEP) for the Train the Trainer Programme for Covenant students
The approval from the university management and the immediate take-off plan is in line with the University’s vision to become one of the top 10 universities in the world in a few years’ time.
