Dominant Covenant World Leader in Composite Coatings, Electrodeposition, Pulse Electrodeposition

 

Covenant University has once again validated her status as a research university of repute, with a prominent researcher in the institution, Dr. Isaac Fayomi, emerging No.1 in the world in the topic ‘Composite Coatings, Electrodeposition, Pulse Electrodeposition’.

According to recent computations by SciVal, an online tool that offers quick, easy access to the research performance of 7,000 research institutions and 220 nations worldwide using bibliometrics, Dr. Fayomi of the Department of Mechanical Engineering led the top 10 authors in this research field globally by scholarly output over the period 2014 to 2019.

The Covenant faculty was credited with 74 scholarly output, 355 citations, and 16 h-index. He had recently emerged tops in the list of the Chancellor’s Exceptional Researchers for 2019 at Covenant. His areas of interests include Mechanical Metallurgy, Materials Development and Corrosion Engineering- Alloy development and Processing, Mechanical and Corrosion characteristic of Aluminium-based Alloys amongst others.

Second in the list of the top 10 researchers worldwide in Composite Coatings, Electrodeposition, Pulse Electrodeposition was Xia Fafeng of the College of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Northeast Petroleum University, Daqing, China. The Chinese had 32 scholarly output, 182 citations, and 12 h-index.

Closely on the heels of Fafeng was Abimbola Patricia Popoola, a Professor of Metallurgical Engineering at Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa. She had 31 scholarly output, 97 citations, and 11 h-index.
