Summary of Profile

Anthony N. Ede, PhD, is a Covenant University Associate Professor of Structures and Materials. Immediate past Head of Department (2017-2019). Has been the College of Engineering Examination Officer from 2014-2017. Dr. Ede has a Laurea (combined BSc and MSC) in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structures from the “Alma Mater Studiorum” University of Bologna, Italy, in 2001. He received his PhD in Composite Materials for Civil Structures in 2008 from the University of Sorrento, Lecce Italy. Engr. Dr. Ede is a COREN registered Engineer, a member of Italian Society of Engineers (Albo Ingegneri) and other professional bodies. He has authored numerous scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He has been member of technical committees and reviewer for many international conferences and peer reviewed journals. Dr Ede has acquired over 18 years of teaching and research experience in Europe, USA and Nigeria and received various awards and scholarships. His current research interests in Structural Engineering and Construction Materials include: Structural Mechanics, Structural Health Monitoring, Structural Reliability/Failures, Finite Element Modelling, Non Destructive Testing, Mechanics of FRP Composites and Characterization of Innovative Construction Materials.
