Dr. Ada Peter is a Professor, Media, and International Security. She produces comprehensive, policy-focused, nontechnical cyber-security documents that emphasize and teach senior principal state officials how to best make informed decisions on cyber policy, strategy, and planning. Her current research focuses on how U.S. national cyber strategies are undermining the protection of critical infrastructures against previous and potential cyber weapons. The most recent recognition of her research is from the U.S. Department of State, recognizing Dr. Peter as SUSI Scholar on U.S. National Security and Policy-making.
Dr. Ada Sonia Peter serves as Director, International Office and Linkages at Covenant University where she leads robust international collaborations and partnerships that shape the international outlook of the University and the continent. She led decisive due diligence processes and protocols culminating in win-win partnerships with global institutions and organizations such as MIT OpenLearning, Sciences Po, Centrale Nantes, Coursera, Facebook, the African Development Bank, the World Bank, UNESCO, Times Higher Education, and still counting.
Dr. Ada Sonia Peter has produced a comprehensive, policy-focused, non-technical cyber-security document that emphasizes and teaches senior principal state officials how to best make informed decisions on cyber policy, strategy, and planning. She developed and periodically evolved an objective assessment of where each emerging economy in Africa stands in cyber-security across critical priority areas. She also managed projects related to national security in Africa, synthesized data, and shared complex knowledge to relevant actors.
Dr. Ada Sonia Peter is also leading and accelerating seamless and successful relationships between HEIs like Covenant University and international organizations like COURSERA, MIT (JWEL), MITx, AfDB, SAP, UNESCO’s Knowledge for Change, UNESCO’s Futures Literacy Project and more. These strategic efforts include delivering successful integration of online learning into the existing curriculum, closing skills gap identified in a university curriculum, and redesigning courses to offer students industry-relevant education and tangible outcomes.
