In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and legacy-building, members of the Covenant University Class of 2015, fondly known as the Admirable Set, returned to their alma mater to recommission and expand the ‘Admirable Park,’ a landmark they originally gifted to the University as part of their graduation project a decade ago.
During the unveiling of the refurbished park, the Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor Timothy Anake, warmly welcomed the returning alumni and expressed his deep appreciation for their generousdss act. He lauded the set for their enduring commitment to the University, noting that their decision to upgrade the park ten years after its initial construction is a testament to the values they imbibed during their time at Covenant.
Professor Anake highlighted that the park’s refurbishment reflects the core ethos of Covenant University, which is leadership, service, and responsibility. “You have shown that the Covenant culture is alive in you,” he said. “This act of giving back aligns perfectly with the vision of our Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, who always teaches that what you sow shall return in multiplied folds.”
Representing the Chancellor at the event, Pastor Stephen Ogar, who is the National Youth Pastor of the Living Faith Church and also an alumnus of Covenant University, commended the Admirable Set for their enduring generosity. “This is not just a donation; it is a legacy,” Pastor Ogar said. “Givers never lack, and what you’ve done today will continue to speak for you in remarkable ways, in your careers, families, and businesses.”
Speaking on behalf of the Class of 2015, Mr. Buchi Okoro, thanked the University for providing a strong foundation through tailored academic and personal development programs such as Entrepreneurial Development Studies (EDS), Total Man Concept (TMC), and Towards a Total Graduate (TTG). He credited these programs for equipping the class with the tools necessary to thrive beyond the University walls.
“We are proud to be products of Covenant University,” Mr. Okoro remarked. “This is just the beginning. We remain committed to supporting our alma mater and will continue to shine the light of Covenant wherever we go.”
The event concluded with the official recommissioning of Admirable Park and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University and the Admirable Set, marking a new chapter in a longstanding relationship rooted in vision, values, and service.
