The Department of Sociology kicked off its town and gown series for the Alpha Semester of the 2023-2024  Academic Session, with an impactful seminar on the importance of sociologists in the Nigerian immigration process. The seminar, titled, ‘The Role of the Sociologist in the Realization of the Core Mandate of the Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS)’, was presented by Assistant Controller of  Immigration (ACI), Leo Moses Muazu.

Innovation is most effective when it is done with a heart geared towards helping humanity. This was the thrust of the keynote address delivered by a tech executive, Mr. Musibau Lasisi, at the 2023 Covenant Innovation Week, with the theme ‘Innovate 360^O: Navigating the Future.’

In recognition of his leadership contribution which has helped in repositioning education in Nigeria and Africa, the leadership of Arewa Youth Consultative Council (AYCC) has bestowed the Sir Ahmadu Bello Leadership Award of Excellence on the Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo.

As part of the strategic efforts to make Covenant University more robust in delivering qualitative service for the realization of its vision and goals, the University Management recently concluded a two-part training exercise for all Academic Leaders and Directors in the institution; doubling as an induction and reorientation to the vision and policies of the University.

The Department of Economics kicks off its academic town and gown seminar in the Alpha semester with an in-depth knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in addition to their career path. The seminar, titled “Charting a Career Path in an Artificial Intelligence-Driven World,” was presented by an eagle, Mr. Oluwaseun Okikiola, a Project Manager, Business Analyst, and Business Developer.

As the new academic session gets underway at Covenant University, the Students’ Council of the University has a new set of leaders to champion the interest of the students and interface with the University Management.
