In building up the for the future marketers in the industry, the students of the covenant university had an interesting and impactful time learning about the Digital Ecosystem, Market Trends, Models and Opportunities. Having understand that the world has gone digital in all spheres, the lecture was an eye-opener for the students who will be competing in the market space.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Ogochukwu Onwuzurike, who is the sales Director at MetaMap and has helped in building successful business revenue teams to scale Saas product across Africa. In her introduction, she made the student to understand the indebt of ecosystem which is the interconnected and interdependent networks of digital services, products and platforms to create value for users such as Facebook, Amazon and mobile app which the students are quite familiar with.

Furthermore, she stressed that digital Ecosystems provide marketers with the new opportunities to reach and engage with customers in which social media, search engines and other online platforms offer powerful tool for targeting specific audience, tracking user behavior and delivering personalized messaging. She maintained that for successful digital marketers, one must apply the monetization strategy which is an advertising model by highlighting display Ads, Search Ads, Social Media Ads, Native Advertising.

Mrs Ogochukwu noted that the trends marketers must absorb is influencing marketing and brand partnership which are endorsement, sponsored content and collaboration. Video and mobile marketing such as live stream, video Ads and Mobile first Campaign, she stressed.

She concluded by tasking the students to watch out for future marketing trends. Noting sustainability and social responsibility, environmentally friendly practices, community engagement, cause marketing, she added. She recommended courses exclusively to Covenant University Marketing students. Engaging questions and feedback was received as the event came to an end.
